Description
The Yamaha U1H is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable and best-selling upright pianos in Yamaha's history. It was produced in Japan between 1972 and 1980, a period that many pianists and piano technicians consider the beginning of the golden age of Yamaha production. Due to its exceptional craftsmanship, reliable mechanics, and excellent sound, the U1H remains one of the most sought-after used pianos in the world today.
With a height of 121 cm it offers the perfect balance between compact dimensions and professional playing characteristics. Longer strings, a quality soundboard, and precisely crafted Yamaha mechanics create a clear, rich, and dynamic sound with the characteristic bright Yamaha character.
The U1H model succeeded the short-lived U1G model and introduced numerous improvements in the mechanics' construction and production process. This generation set the standard for all subsequent models in the U series. Due to the vast number of instruments produced, the U1H is still very widespread today and is considered an exceptionally reliable piano with a long lifespan.
With professional restoration and regular maintenance, the Yamaha U1H can easily serve multiple generations of pianists. Due to its excellent balance of quality, performance, and price, it is often the first choice for music schools, professors, and home pianists.
